Birthday Goals
Yesterday was my birthday. My friends spoiled me with treats, flowers, and lunch at this beautiful kitchen and bakery. Almost everything on the menu had a gluten-free option. It was Amazing! The company that I work for organized a team building event at the bowling alley so I participated in some friendly competition, which was a lot of fun.
I have been reflecting on the last several years and, while I have no regrets, there is still so much that I would like to do in this life. I spent years losing myself and then searching for myself to get to this point where I'm finally getting to know myself, who I am, and what I want. So here is a list of birthday wishes and goals that I want to make happen. Some of these items are just things that need to become constant habits in my life.
Have more fun! Make more memories! Decisions that I made when I was younger have had me in survival mode for so long, that I have forgotten to have fun. I've also spent way too much time and energy giving attention to things that don't bring me joy. I think it's time that I re-focus my attention on the things that do.
Take more pictures. I haven't always had the greatest self esteem or confidence and, because of that, I usually dodge the camera. That's not fair to myself or others who try to include me in their memories by snapping a photo. Going forward, I'm going to take more pictures.
Travel. The last vacation I took was 5 years ago. I think I am way overdue. Do you know that I've never taken a girl's trip?!
Exercise. Get in the gym!
Eat healthy food. Stop eating processed crap! Eating healthy is amazing - helps you look and feel amazing too!
Develop mental toughness. Take those mental health days. Spend time with myself for myself. Go get a facial, get a massage, get those nails done, meditate, go for a walk/run, do the 75 hard challenge :)
Make a difference in someone else's life. Take advantage of volunteer opportunities at work or church so I am in a position to serve others.
Do things outside of my comfort zone. I recently joined a couple of committees at work, which is something I would have never done before.
Continue to build this website/blog. This falls in line with my dreams and goals for myself so I need to keep at it. Dream bigger!
Get a tattoo. I have one tattoo. I got it when I was 19 in South Padre Island. I have always wanted another one.
Go on a wine tour. I've never done this before. Would love to go to the Texas hill country or Napa Valley.
Be financially free and independent. Pay off debt. Make more. Save more. Invest more. Give more.
Grow my relationship with God. Stay in prayer and fellowship and in His Word.
Build dream home with my husband. My husband and I have property in East Texas. I'm excited to build our home together out in the country. Not exactly sure when we will start building our home, but we can definitely start having some fun with the design process.
Do a fitness photoshoot. This is may seem funny, but this is something I have been wanting to do for a long time. Once I reach my fitness goals, I am definitely doing this!
Spend more time with friends and family. Make time for those you love and care about. Those moments are priceless.
There is so much more I can add to this list, but this is a good start. I am so thankful for the circumstances that I have been through that have made me into who I am today. I am definitely ready to live a more full life. Cheers to another year!
